|
| Why are EC C/O's required? |
- Proof of origin may be required for reasons of political or preference
- Political atmosphere in the destination country may dictate that goods of certain origin are not admissible. This may be due to long-standing political or cultural differences, or recent feuds, or state of war. Any country may at any time, for a variety of reasons, impose a form of trade embargo against another country (ies)
- Preference may be obtainable in the destination country for certain types of goods of certain origin - hence the need for proof of Origin- but take extreme care to always ensure that your origin statements are accurate
- origin proof may be required to comply with Customs measures, ie quotas
- You can raise and EC C/O for any goods of any country of origin - however, be aware of any individual origin requirements /restrictions of the destination country of your goods
- If your consignment consists of various goods of various origins, you may enter these all on your EC C/O - but clearly indicate which items are of which origin.
